Feisty Bento #122: Identity Theft?

Left to right: more ground meat/green beans mixture; some random fried rice I found in the fridge

I made no effort with bento today because I am seriously pissed off. My credit card number was somehow stolen while I was in Argentina - just the number, because I have the card - and now begins the frantic attempt at preventing or stopping identity theft. ARGH.

On a happier note, REMINDER: deadline for Does This Make My Bento Look Phat? contest coming up this Friday, so get those entries in!!!

As always... happy bento!

PS The container isn't really a new one - it's Snapware. (Wow. Not my day. I added this long postscript and when I clicked PUBLISH POST, it got eaten. What. the. freak?) Anyway, it's the top box in that link, though that's a ridiculous price; mine came in a boxed set from Bed Bath & Beyond - took it from my mom's box. 20% off coupon makes it really affordable, imitation Lock & Lock even that's easily found. Enjoy!

  1. I had that happen... we found out right after I got out of the hospital from my car accident! Apparently someone scraped my number and pin and my mom's from a gas station we both went to. :( Luckily we got it all figured out and I got my money back... hopefully everything turns out well for you!

  3. I've been reading your blog for a little while now (I found it thanks to the link on Lunch in a Box) and I think it's awesome!

I've actually had credit card numbers stolen several times. All I had to do was call the company and tell them which transactions weren't mine. This last time I also had to verify that I hadn't lived at any of the shipping addresses the thief used and I had to sign a form they sent me saying the transactions weren't mine. In every case, I only had to make one phone call, they shut down the card, sent a new one and I wasn't responsible for any of the charges. Companies are usually really good about this, so hopefully it will get taken care of quickly for you. Good luck!
